Just a quick boat ride across the Coral Sea by fast catamaran from Cairns, Green Island is a beautiful 6000 year old coral cay island located within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. It is the coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef with a rainforest growing on it. It is the only nearby island with a sandy beach under tropical palms.
The island paradise is surrounded by coral gardens and abundant marine life to explore. Here you will have great chances to see both, stingrays and turtles, as they feed on the rich grounds of available seagrass, whilst snorkeling off the beach or choosing a glass-bottom boat tour.
This island invites for a stunning helicopter flight to enjoy a breathtaking view over this diverse eco system.
If you miss with the pocket money for a rocket flight to the moon, why not enjoy a Seawalker experience, a helmet-dive in the Great Barrier Reef, walking the ocean floor?
To gain the best views of the Reef and stay dry, you must jump on the Semi-Submarine, a boat where you sit under the surface of the water, viewing the corals with a 380° view.
To get away from the crowds as a more confident snorkeler you may jump onboard the snorkel vessel to explore the magnificent corals in the less shallow waters, further away from the island (available on full day options only).
On the island you can visit the crocodile park, Marineland Malinesia, and visit one of the world’s oldest and largest saltwater crocodiles in captivity.
Enjoy an exclusive and value buffet lunch on the boat, when choosing the full day option.
