Kuranda is a small rainforest village nestled high in the mountains North of Cairns. It is full of exciting and vibrant markets where people from all parts of the Highlands come together to sell their unique and interesting wares. Three large commercial attractions are found here also, including Birdworld, The Butterfly Sanctuary and Koala Gardens.

Be collected from your accommodation and transferred to Kuranda Scenic Rail for your 100 minute journey to Kuranda Village via one of the Worlds most Scenic train journeys. This step back in time will leave you breathless, giving you extraordinary views of the Coral Sea, World Heritage listed rainforest, exotic Gorges, lovely cascades and large waterfalls on-route.

You will have over 3 hours free time to explore Kuranda Village. Shop among its unique markets and shops, dine in one of its quaint cafes or restaurants, and visit its attractions. Your return journey will be on one of the Worlds longest gondolas and one of the worlds most beautiful Rainforest experiences. Spend over an hour on  your own private gondola with our Skyrail Cableway. You will float 10 meters above the rainforest canopy for most of the 7.5 kilometre journey down the mountain range while u take in the spectacular scenery. You can even enjoy two informative 10 minute rainforest walks along the way, where you will disembark your gondola to view the world heritage listed rainforest at ground level to learn more about its flora and fauna. When you arrive at the end of your Skyrail journey, your friendly Trek North tour guide will be there to meet you and return you to your accommodation. 

Consider the full Kuranda Experience and include a 2 hour visit to the exciting Rainforestation Park, where you will be treated to a first class buffet lunch before exploring the rainforest while traveling on board a historic Army Duck! After the Army Duck experience, enjoy the Pamagirri Aboriginal dance show, boomerang and spear throwing, and the ancient art of the didgeridoo.
