DAY TOUR ITINERARY

Your day starts with a complimentary transfer from your accommodation in an air-conditioned coach. First onto Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural park, here you will see the famous Tjapukai dance troupe.

You will have time to experience the other Tjapukai attractions such as the history theatre and craft demonstrations or try you r hand at boomerang and spear throwing. Your day continues on Skyrail Rainforest Cableway with an exhilarating trip over the rainforest canopy to Kuranda Village, along the way you will stop at Red peak and Barron Falls for a spectacular views and a walk on the rainforest boardwalk

Arriving in Kuranda your guide will escort you to the Kuranda Rainforest View restaurant  the Trading Post for a first class buffet lunch. After Lunch you will be given time to explore the Kuranda Markets where you find local arts and crafts as well as cultural artefacts. Your guide will then accompany you through the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary where 1500 tropical butterflies call home, including the electric blue Ulysses and the magnificent lime green Cairns Birdwing.

It's now time to travel by Kuranda Scenic Train to Cairns. This world renowned railway affords some of the most breathtaking scenery in the region. There Kuranda train will stop at Stoney Creek Falls for a photo opportunity before arriving in Cairns where your coach will transfer you to your hotel.

Kuranda established a railway station in the mid 1800's when mining and logging was a big industry on the Atherton Tablelands. Kuranda has become quite a famous tourist destination and recognised for its famous "Kuranda Markets". Hidden away among the dense tropical rainforest, you can stroll through the markets browsing a huge variety of stalls which provide an original range of handmade local arts & crafts plus Australian opals, jewellery, gemstones, crocodile and kangaroo leather goods. Discover some rich Aboriginal heritage as they share part of their 60,000 year history with you. This vibrant little village is only 27 km North West of Cairns and has a population of approx 800.
